As he left the building under tight security, Vijay briefly acknowledged the throngs of fans who had gathered outside, waving to them from his vehicle. Footage also captured Thalapathy Vijay overlooking a reporter's inquiry regarding the Karur stampede case. Clips of this moment have circulated on social media, depicting the actor surrounded by his entourage and security as supporters cheered from afar.

In a clip shared by ANI on X (formerly Twitter), Thalapathy fans who had been waiting for hours outside the CBI office expressed their joy at catching a glimpse of the star, particularly as he gradually shifts his focus from films to his political career. He acknowledged their admiration by waving at fans and greeting them from within his car.
Another notable moment was the actor disregarding a reporter's question. A reporter inquired, "If you could share a word, Sir, about the questioning. You are leaving the CBI Office, Sir." While Vijay did not answer the reporter's question, he was seen waving at fans from his vehicle.

What prompted Vijay's visit to the CBI?
Vijay’s visit to the CBI is associated with the unfortunate stampede that took place on September 27, 2025, in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district during one of his political rallies. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 41 individuals and left over 60 others injured, sparking widespread outrage and demands for accountability. As part of the investigation, the CBI has already interrogated several TVK officials, Vijay’s personal driver, and numerous police officers involved in the security arrangements during the event.
Previously, the actor had appeared before the central agency on January 12, where he was questioned for more than six hours. He was initially asked to return the next day but requested a postponement due to Pongal celebrations. The agency consented, resulting in the second round of questioning on January 19.
Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan release facing challenges
In addition, Thalapathy Vijay is confronting another significant issue, the controversy surrounding his latest film, Jana Nayagan. The film was slated for release on January 9, but its launch was halted after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) refused to grant approval. The situation was first brought to the Madras High Court and subsequently escalated to the Supreme Court.On January 15, the Supreme Court reviewed the producers’ appeal but declined to provide interim relief, posing a setback for the filmmakers. The case has now been returned to the Madras High Court and is scheduled for another hearing on January 20.
