Aditya Dhar's debut film Uri: The Surgical Strike celebrates 7 years
Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar has not only triumphed at the box office but has also become one of the most significant blockbusters in Indian cinema's history. As the film continues its record-setting performance, the director is taking a moment to reflect on his growth as a filmmaker. Interestingly, January 11 also signifies seven years since the debut of his first film Uri: The Surgical Strike, which first graced theaters in 2019 and altered the course of his career forever.
In his Instagram Stories, Aditya shared a touching message contemplating the importance of that day. “11th January 2019. A day that transformed my life eternally. My first film, Uri, debuted on that date. I had long awaited that moment. My dream finally came to fruition,” he wrote. He further disclosed that his vision for the film was firmly established from the outset. “The goal was evident from the beginning—to create a courageous, bold film that could herald a new era in our cinema. To narrate an Indian tale with global standards,” he added.
Dhar continued to speak openly about the challenges of filmmaking, reminding himself to remain humble despite his success. “I frequently remind myself to never lose sight of where it all started.
