What is the story about?
With Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and its follow-up Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), Sukumar and lead actor Allu Arjun have produced two of the top-grossing films
in Telugu cinema. The director has collaborated with Allu Arjun since his debut film Arya in 2004, providing the South star with some of the most significant roles in his career. On the occasion of his 54th birthday, his long-time associate Allu shared a picture and a heartfelt message for his friend Sukumar. The Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actor also expressed why Sukumar's birthday holds great significance for him and how it transformed his life. Check out his Insta Story below!
Allu Arjun's heartfelt message for Pushpa director Sukumar
In his Insta Story, Allu Arjun shared a candid image of himself chatting with Sukumar. He wrote, "Happy Birthday, @aryasukku darling. This day is special for me... even more than for you... because it altered the course of my life. No words can express the happiness of having you in my life. Puttinandhuku thanks!!! From his first film Arya (2004), Sukumar was recognized as a director to keep an eye on, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu at the 52nd Filmfare Awards South. For Arya 2, the duo came together again, and their partnership on the Pushpa series became legendary. Allu Arjun received his first National Film Award for Best Actor, and his fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for his portrayal of sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj in Pushpa: The Rise.
Sukumar and Allu Arjun to collaborate again for Pushpa: The Rampage - Part 3?
In September 2025, Sukumar announced confirmed Pushpa 3 at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in Dubai. While on stage with Allu Arjun and producer Naveen Yerneni, the director stated, "Obviously, Pushpa 3 undi (Clearly, we're working on Pushpa 3)."
The second installment concluded with a cliffhanger, and there are speculations that Vijay Deverakonda may join the cast as an antagonist. However, fans will need to be patient, as both Sukumar and Allu Arjun are currently engaged in other projects.
