Urvashi and Jayaram Reunite After 20 Years for National Award-Winning Director Pandiraj's Project
In a recent conversation with host Gopinath, Jayaram confirmed that filming is currently underway and expressed his enthusiasm about reuniting with Urvashi after such a long break. Sharing his joy, the actor mentioned that the film is primarily focused on humor and is set to be a delightful experience. Describing the vibe on set, Jayaram stated, “After two decades, we are acting in a film together. The shooting is ongoing, but a title has yet to be decided. It features a highly entertaining, humor-rich storyline. Each scene takes about 10–15 takes as we find ourselves laughing between shots. Pandiraj sir patiently waits for us to stop laughing before moving on to the next scene.”
While Tamil viewers fondly recall their partnership in Panchatanthiram, they came together again in 2020 for the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai, which premiered on Prime Video.

Information regarding the plot and additional cast members is currently being kept confidential. An official announcement from the team is anticipated shortly.
On the professional front, Jayaram was recently featured in Kantara: Chapter 1 and has the Malayalam film Ashakal Aayiram set for release. Their collaboration under Pandiraj’s direction is now one of the most eagerly awaited projects.
