Alpha receives a new release date - here's the reason
Yash Raj Films has announced that Alpha will now premiere on April 17, 2026. The studio explained that this decision was made due to outstanding VFX work, as they aim to showcase Alpha in its most visually stunning form.
"Alpha is a film of great importance to us, and we want to deliver it in its most cinematic form. We have come to understand that the VFX will require more time than we initially expected. We are committed to ensuring that Alpha provides a memorable theatrical experience for all. Therefore, we will now launch the film on April 17, 2026," a spokesperson for YRF stated.

Industry reactions to YRF's decision to delay Alpha
Addressing the rumors that Alpha's release has been postponed to secure a more favorable release window, given the crowded December and January schedules, a leading industry insider described YRF's decision as 'reasonable'. "The Alpha team is dedicated to delivering the best film for viewers. This is a sensible choice by YRF. The VFX team was facing significant pressure regarding deadlines that were becoming increasingly unrealistic," the insider remarked.
They further noted, "Thus, the change in the release date is solely due to this reason and not because of the current busy release schedule from Avatar through the end of January 2026. There is considerable work still to be done, which is why Alpha is set to release in April instead of February."
Alia's debut film with YRF, Alpha will showcase her alongside Sharvari as they confront Bobby Deol in the next intense installment of the YRF Spy Universe. The film is directed by Shiv Rawail.
