Rakul was involved in two love triangles in Mere Husband Ki Biwi and De De Pyaar De 2. The Bollywood star further mentioned her desire to collaborate with artists she has yet to work with. Rakul specifically mentioned Dhurandhar star Ranveer Singh and King actor Shah Rukh Khan as individuals she hopes to share the screen with. The director of Love & War, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was also on her list.
Rakul Preet Singh envisions her future collaborators
In a conversation with Zoom, Rakul shared her intention to push beyond her previous work in her 17-year career. She started her journey in South Indian cinema and made her Bollywood entry in 2014 with Yaariyan. Rakul expressed, “My goal moving forward is to discover scripts that are equally challenging so that I can meet my audience's expectations. I want to collaborate with everyone I haven't yet worked with.”
The actress remarked, “There's Ranveer, whom I admire and haven't collaborated with yet. I would love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, sir, for sure. I would also love to work with Shah Rukh sir. There are so many individuals I wish to collaborate with. More than anything, I just want to work with as many people as possible, especially those I haven't had the chance to work with.”
Rakul reprised her character as Ayesha Khurrana in the romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2. Co-starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Meezaan Jafri, the Hindi film directed by Anshul Sharma depicts Ashish (Devgn) meeting his younger girlfriend's family to seek their approval for marriage.
Rakul Preet Singh’s forthcoming projects
Rakul is involved in Mudassar Aziz's upcoming film, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Wamiqa Gabbi. She is also part of the long-awaited Indian 3, starring Kamal Haasan. Directed by Shankar, the Tamil sequel is set to release during Christmas 2025. Lastly, Rakul is part of the ensemble cast in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. She portrays Surpanakha in the film, which is scheduled for release on Diwali 2026.
The actress is married to actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani. After making their relationship public in 2021, they tied the knot on February 21, 2024, in a traditional ceremony held in Goa. Rakul and Jackky have collaborated on the films Cuttputlli (2022) and Mere Husband Ki Biwi (2025).
