the pair is poised to collaborate once more after two decades to create a Hindi adaptation of a 2024 Marathi film.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, "Mahesh Manjrekar helmed Juna Furniture and starred in the leading role. The film received significant praise for its themes, narrative, and performances. Mahesh recognized its potential to resonate with Hindi-speaking viewers as well. Therefore, he has commenced work on the screenplay for the Hindi version.”

Further indicating Sanjay Dutt's involvement, the source mentioned, "He has reached out to Sanjay Dutt, believing that the seasoned actor will perfectly embody the character. Both Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt share a mutual admiration. They have enjoyed their previous collaborations, and it has been some time since they last worked together. This was also a motivating factor for the director to invite the actor to join the project. However, Sanjay Dutt has yet to respond to Mr. Manjrekar regarding his availability for the remake.”

On the work front, Sanjay Dutt is preparing for his next cinematic role in Dhurandar, which is directed, written, and produced by Aditya Dhar. This action-filled drama will be Dutt’s first venture alongside Ranveer Singh. The film also features R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna in key roles, with Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Jimmy Sheirgill in supporting roles.
Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandar unfolds against the backdrop of a high-stakes intelligence operation. Currently in the production phase, the film is set to hit theaters on December 5. Sanjay also has Prabhas' The Raja Saab lined up.
