One might assume that celebrities have become more aware of how they treat their staff in the era of social media. Nevertheless, the unkind aspects of fame
continue to persist. Actor Naveen Kasturia recently disclosed that it is not uncommon for Indian film stars to mistreat their crew members on set. He also emphasized that in Western countries, even junior staff are treated with dignity. Naveen Kasturia Says Senior Actors 'Disrespect' Crew Members “At times, individuals in higher positions tend to show disrespect towards crew members on set. I believe this issue is prevalent only in India," he mentioned during a conversation with Bollywood Bubble. He noted that there seems to be a belief that if someone earns less, it gives others the right to treat them poorly, which he identified as a significant issue in India. He also highlighted that in everyday situations, people frequently mistreat those in lower positions, citing the example of a security guard who is expected to rise and acknowledge everyone. Reality Of Film Sets Naveen further remarked, “On film sets, there are numerous individuals collaborating. Unfortunately, this hierarchy often results in crew members being treated unfairly. However, when these same individuals travel abroad for filming, they come to understand that they cannot mistreat juniors—because that culture is absent outside India. There, everyone is regarded as equals." He continued, “I don’t believe anyone has the authority to mistreat or show disrespect to another individual, regardless of their position. Unfortunately, this occurs frequently on Indian film sets. Respect should be a universal principle—every person is entitled to it." The actor is widely recognized for his roles in shows such as TVF Pitchers, Bose: Dead/Alive, Happily Ever After, Aspirants, and Breathe: Into the Shadows.
