Imran Khan on his return to film
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Imran stated, “The film reflects what the Break Ke Baad team would be experiencing 15 years down the line. It’s a natural evolution. Danish and I now share a wealth of life experiences. He’s married, and I’ve experienced a divorce. This is precisely the film we ought to create 15 years later. It’s a deeply personal project that emerged from a creative desire to narrate a story and collaborate with cherished friends. The filming is finished, and it’s currently in post-production. We are awaiting the streaming platform to finalize the release date.”
Regarding Bhumi’s involvement, he mentioned, “It was a collaborative decision. We all concurred on her and the energy she would contribute to the film. We were very transparent about it. She infused a positive atmosphere on set, and the same goes for Gurfateh (Pirzada). Honestly, this is the most joyful set I’ve ever been part of.”
Imran also reminisced about how he initially turned down Break Ke Baad and remarked, “I was filming I Hate Luv Storys (2010) when Danish approached me for a narration of Break Ke Baad. He dislikes narrations, and I’m not great at listening to them, so I declined and walked away. Later, I bumped into him at a party, and we hit it off. During our chat, I realized he was the same person whose script I had previously rejected. That’s when he sent me a draft to review, and it resonated with me. We were shooting the film just a few months later.”
