Ranveer Singh found himself in hot water after he imitated the scene where Daiva takes over Rishabh's character in Kantara Chapter 1. This moment was part
of the revered Chaundi sequence, which honors Goddess Chavundi. According to NDTV, an FIR was filed against Ranveer at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Previously, the actor had expressed regret, clarifying that his aim was to 'spotlight' Rishabh Shetty's remarkable performance in the movie. The incident occurred during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where Rishabh was in attendance as Ranveer performed the imitation.

The official complaint was lodged on Wednesday at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru following a court order. The actor is accused of offending Hindu religious sentiments and the Chavundi Daiva customs of coastal Karnataka. As an actor, I understand the effort it takes to portray that specific scene as he did, which earns my highest respect. I have always held every culture, tradition, and belief in our nation in high regard. If I have offended anyone, I truly apologize."
