What is the story about?
Shah Rukh Khan is currently one of the leading stars in Bollywood. He has captured the hearts of audiences for many years and boasts a massive global following.
Recently, SRK received his first National Award after 33 years for Atlee's Jawan, and since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating a sequel to the film. Enthusiastic supporters have expressed their desire to see more collaborations between them, and at last, the director has shared his thoughts on the matter. In a recent media interaction, the star disclosed that plans for Jawan 2 might not materialize in the near future, which is certainly disappointing news for many.
Atlee, Shah Rukh Khan In Jawan 2?
During an event for the World Pickleball League season 2, where the director referred to SRK as his favorite pickleball partner, Atlee was questioned about the sequel to the action-packed film. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he mentioned, "I believe that Shah Rukh sir and I will definitely collaborate on something. However, I personally think that Jawan 2 might be a few years down the line. It won’t be the next immediate project. But certainly, Shah Rukh sir and I will explore something when the time is right."
He also dismissed the speculation regarding directing Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. Previously, reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan would reprise his role following Ranveer Singh's departure, but only if Atlee, who directed him in Jawan, was at the helm. Last month, a source close to the production confirmed that the director is not involved in the film. Now, Atlee himself stated, "Oh no! That’s just a rumor. I saw it too. No, nothing like that."
Professional Front
For those who may not know, in Jawan, SRK portrayed a dual role, playing both a soldier father and the son of a police officer. His powerful monologue and action sequences received acclaim, and the film was hailed as a monumental success.
On the professional front, SRK is set to appear in King alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Jaideep Ahlawat, and others.
Meanwhile, Atlee is once again collaborating with Deepika Padukone for Allu Arjun’s upcoming project, which is highly anticipated and tentatively titled AA22xA6.
