He later underwent surgery and is currently recovering.The injury came as a setback after months of preparation and filming. The actor, currently seen in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, had been preparing for the physically demanding role for a while. Reportedly, he had undergone a major transformation and gained around 40 pounds of muscle. However, the actor will no longer play iconic warrior Kratos.
