Kriti
Sanon has worked in the film industry for more than a decade now. Starting as an outsider who stepped into modelling and became one of Bollywood’s leading actresses, she has carved a space for herself. The craft without any internal support or backing became her stronghold and was perfectly seen in films like Housefull 4 and many others. Her latest film, Cocktail 2, a spiritual sequel, has received moderate success, with critics drawing comparisons to the previous film, Cocktail. After proving herself multiple times, she revealed that it is unfair as star kids don’t have to do so.
Kriti Sanon Finds Nepotism ‘Unfair’
Kriti, in a conversation with Filmfare, revealed that she believes star kids get opportunities more easily than any other outsider. But some star kids like Ranbir Kapoor and
Alia Bhatt also have to prove themselves. "Many times you hear you’re being considered for a film, and it kind of goes to someone else”, she felt this is not always because of nepotism, as a few from privileged backgrounds are talented.
The Housefull 4 star said the problem lies when someone gets opportunities for eight or nine years without proving themselves as an actor, and in that case, it is unfair to talented candidates. She believes if one does not prove themselves in the first few years of their journey, if they are not from a film background, one might lose what they've earned. “You’re written off,” she concluded.
Her Career’s Ordeal
Sanon also spoke about the challenges she faced at the beginning of her career. 'There were moments of self-doubt and frustration' when she did not get what she dreamt of. The journey for Kriti has not been easy; it was gradual. According to her, the virtue of not giving up, which she possessed, was something that helped her in the ups and downs. After her first photoshoot and a ramp show did not go well, she came home crying, but she revealed but also went for the next one, which pushed her to today. "The urge to learn, the urge not to give up,” she added.
