Television
actress Shilpa Shinde is widely known for her role in the hit comedy show, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain. The actress recently in June surrounded herself with a major controversy that left the internet shocked. She accused her show’s producer of sexual harassment, which she later revealed was completely fake and all planned by her. The internet was not behind in taking Shilpa to task after her claims, but the actress defended herself unapologetically. She has now joined the Netflix reality show Lock Upp Season 2, where she made yet another major statement.
Shilpa Shinde Says The Producer Begged Her
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli was falsely accused of sexual harassment by Shilpa Shinde, as she revealed it herself. Now, on
Lock Upp Season 2, she defended her side and revealed how Sanjay begged for her return. In a conversation with Yogesh Rawat and Riyaz Ali,
Shilpa Shinde was confronted as they called her wrong. Yogesh reflected how a similar case happened to him, and Riyaz felt it destroys a man’s life. “I used saam, daam, dhand, bhed. I didn't misuse the law, I used it,” Shilpa responded to the confrontation. According to her, if you say that twisting the law for one's own good is bad, you are the one who lights up candles on the street for women after something happens. “He’s good to me,” said Shilpa Shinde, revealing how Sanjay begged her after 9 years for a return on the show and wondered why he did that. Watch-
Yogesh was still not convinced with her defense, so the
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actress called him a kid and concluded with, “You'll realise when something like this happens to you."
The Controversial Reveal
Shilpa Shinde left the
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain show in 2016, which led to a major fall for both the show and the producers. It did not happen smoothly. Shilpa was upset as her dues were not cleared, and the producers felt she was unprofessional. She then accused them of an unhealthy work environment and of sexual harassment. Shilpa later filed an official complaint against Sanjay Kohli.
The case was settled outside court. In June this year, on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, she spoke for the first time and revealed it was all false and was done to get her due payback; she did realise it led to a major fallout for the producer, but also felt this was necessary as “All doors were closed on me,” she added. Shilpa Shinde is now seen on
Lock Upp Season 2 as a wildcard contestant. The show is hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh on Netflix.
