2's new track, Bandhu 2.0, featuring Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, is so bad that it's good. As the name suggests, it is a recreated version of the iconic song from the original film, which starred Diana Penty, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. Evoking major nostalgia, the new track has got the internet talking. Apart from the choreography and the chemistry between the new cast, what caught everyone's attention was Shahid's warning to his team. "Troll hojayenge," he tells his co-stars as they suggest remaking the song. It appears that this self-aware remark is the very thing that saved Bandhu 2.0 from facing major backlash online. Now that's how you do it right!
Cocktail 2's Bandhu 2.0 Drops
“We should've done this song, yaar,” says Kriti as she revisits the classic. When Shahid responds, “Paagal hai, troll hojayenge,” she adds, “But, it's iconic.”The trio then break into the new choreography, which comes across as a humorous take on how badly the recreation could have gone. Set against a green screen, they dance to the same lyrics with upbeat music. Every shot feels like a playful nod to how Ally, Diya and Kunal would have approached it. And well… it’s something you have to see for yourself.

It seems as though the makers were aware of potential trolling, so they kept the visuals minimal, focusing instead on sharp choreography and styling, which gives the track a fresh twist.Point to be noted: the track isn't even part of the film. Internet REACTS Interestingly, Shahid’s self-awareness seems to have saved the trio from major trolling. Many appreciated the fact that they did not attempt to match the original, which still enjoys a strong and loyal fan following. "They were smart enough to clearly indicate that they could never top the OG song, and that's why this is going to be successful," commented a user. Another wrote, "A remake that respects nostalgia instead of exploiting it...Rare Bollywood." A fan expressed, "Love that they didn't destroy the song by adding different verses and rap and changing the singers. They kept the spirit of the original song alive, while adding their own flavour to it. This is how you do it!"Check out the reactions here:
