Meghna
Gulzar is returning to the big screen with Daayra and the buzz around the film keeps getting bigger. The thriller brings together Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran for the first time, and that alone has people excited. Now, Prithviraj has opened up about what working with Meghna Gulzar was really like and what audiences should expect from this film.
Prithviraj Sukumaran Is All Praise For Meghna Gulzar
Prithviraj Sukumaran did not hold back when talking about the director. He said Meghna Gulzar is someone he had been watching closely for years, admiring both the stories she picks and the way she tells them. For him, getting to finally work with her was a long-time wish come true.He also shared that the two of them argued a lot during the making of the film. But he said it in the best possible way. According to him, no filmmaker has ever pushed him to debate and discuss as much as Meghna did. He called the whole experience incredibly fun and fulfilling.
Prithviraj was also clear that he made time for this project even when his schedule was packed and he has no regrets. He said Meghna is not just a great filmmaker but also a warm person, and he is genuinely grateful she wanted him for the role. What stood out most to him was how balanced the film is. He explained that Daayra will raise uncomfortable, disturbing questions about justice but it will not tell the audience what to think. The film stays objective right till the very end, which he said is extremely hard to pull off, especially with such heavy subject matter. He said, "It is incredible how Meghna, from point A to B, she's never veered into one side of that line. It's tough for a filmmaker to do that. Especially with that written material, it's very easy for a filmmaker to sort of veer into one side of that line. And then the film stops becoming objective. But Daayra never does. Right till the last moment of the film, it'll keep asking you the question but not answer it for you."
