Meta AI Rolls Out New Agentic Features Powered By Muse Spark 1.1 Model: How They Work

Zuckerberg’s Meta has been betting big on AI as the competitive global AI race intensifies. After rolling out AI models and image generation features which it scaled back later, the company has now introduced a new set of features for its AI assistant that let it complete multi-step tasks. The features were announced on Saturday and are powered by Meta’s Muse Spark 1.1 model.

Meta AI Can Handle Multi-Step Tasks

According to Meta, these agentic AI features are being rolled out in select markets through the Meta AI app and meta.ai, with support for WhatsApp expected in the coming weeks. This update will let users delegate routine tasks instead of repeatedly prompting the AI. Meta said in its blog, "Meta AI is starting to take action on your behalf."The new features also allow users to schedule recurring updates from Meta AI. The assistant can provide daily briefings based on calendar events, identify scheduling conflicts and send summaries at a preferred time.Users can also set recurring requests such as weekly meal plans, updates on sneaker releases or regular summaries on topics they follow. Once configured, Meta AI will continue delivering those updates automatically, according to the company.

Research And Presentation Tools

Meta AI has also gained new research capabilities. The company said the assistant can gather information from across the web, research papers and content shared by creators and communities on Meta's platforms to prepare summaries.Users can also ask the AI to convert its findings into presentation slides. While the AI is working on reports or presentations, users can edit the request in real time by asking it to change the focus, tone or structure before the final version is completed.According to Meta, all content created by the AI, including reports, presentations, mood boards and training plans, will now be stored in one location so users can revisit or share them later. The new features are starting to roll out in select countries through the Meta AI app and meta.ai. Meta said it plans to expand availability to more countries and additional platforms, including WhatsApp, over the coming weeks.The company also said users can continue using Meta AI for standard conversations, shopping suggestions and private chats through its Incognito mode while the new capabilities become available.
