After
the first Padma Awards investiture ceremony for 2026, President of India Droupadi Murmu will confer 65 awards at the second ceremony. While the first ceremony was held on May 25, the second one will take place today at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The 65 Padma awards will be inclusive of two Padma Vibhushan, seven Padma Bhushan and 56 Padma Shri. In the first ceremony, late actor Dharmendra was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, which was posthumously received by his wife Hema Malini. And now, three others celebrities from the entertainment world will be honoured today.

Malayalam superstar
Mammootty will be conferred with Padma Bhushan at the second civil investiture ceremony. The actor, who has done films like Bramayugam and Mathilukal, has been a part of over 400 films. He has acted in films across languages in her career spanning five decades. The actor was recently seen in Patriot, which hit the big screen on May 1.
R Madhavan
While Mammootty will be honoured with Padma Bhushan, R Madhavan will receive Padma Shri. In her career spanning three decades, Maddy, as he is fondly called, has worked across film industries and carved a niche for himself. The actor was last seen in Aditya Dhar's
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is one of the biggest blockbuster movies of 2026.
Alka Yagnik
Playback singer Alka Yagnik is among the 65 popular personalities who will be receiving the Padma Awards from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. She will be conferred with Padma Bhushan. Earlier, when the awards were announced, the playback singer had expressed, "I am deeply grateful to the Government of India for bestowing upon me the Padma Bhushan. After decades in the film and music industry, this honour feels both humbling and deeply emotional."

Dharmendra and Satish Shah were posthumously honoured with Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri. Hema Malini was present to receive the honour for her late husband and Bollywood actor. While sharing a photo with President from the ceremony on Instagram, the veteran actress wrote,"An euphoric moment! A moment when I actually felt my husband Dharam ji's warm presence, holding my hand and guiding me to the dais where his Padma Vibhushan award awaited him."Meanwhile, the second civil investiture ceremony will be held at 5pm today.
