Adah Sharma Calls Out Selective Compassions Towards Animals, Explains Why Actors Should Repeat Clothes Publicly

Sharma attended the Times Now Sustainability Conclave in New Delhi, and spoke about a lot of burning matters in a very candid manner. The Hasee Toh Phasee actress, who has done a lot of campaigns to create awareness about animal welfare, opened up about her childhood and what actually motivated her to speak up for innocent animals. She also shed light on the importance of repeating clothes in public, especially by actors who can influence thousands of fans by their choices.

Adah Sharma says loving animals is 'a way of life' for her

Adah Sharma told Times Now's Heena Gambir that for her, being kind to animals was never a cause, it was a 'way of life' that came to her naturally because of her upbringing. "Jaise aap apne friend ki Mummy ko nahi khaoge, waise aap kisi jaanwar ki mummy ko nahi khaoge," she said explaining the matter very simply.She then added, "Everybody teaches their children to be good to animals, but there's a selective compassion. You are kind to dogs and cats, but you are not kind to chicken and the other animals that you eat." The actress stated that she was taught that everybody is equal and that animals' life is as precious as any human's life. The actress believes that humans are inherently kind, but they are ignorant or not really empathetic towards others or animals that they eat.

Adah Sharma on repeating clothes as an actor

Talking about how she repeats clothes, Adah Sharma said that as actors, they inspire people. From fashion choices to hair colour, everything an actor does influences their fans. She said that even the saree she wore at the summit is something she has been photographed in multiple times and it belongs to her Nani. "I make it a conscious choice," said Adah about repeating clothes. "I want people to know it is not a crime to repeat clothes. When people see actors doing that, they start to see that its not wrong."

Talking about leather at the TN Sustainability Conclave, Adah said its not fair that any animal has to die just so humans can wear a belt. "There are alternatives that look very, very similar to leather and are cruelty-free," claimed The Kerala Story actress. Adah also stated that she believes he has been chosen to do so many campaigns for animal welfare because she is a life-long vegetarian. She also revealed that she is closely linked with many animal organisations as well.
