Gatta Kusthi 2 Box Office Day 3: Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Lekshmi Film Continues Impressive Growth

Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi's Gatta Kusthi 2 continued its impressive run at the box office, posting another day of growth on Sunday. Driven by strong weekend footfalls, the sports drama witnessed a solid rise in collections on its third day. According to Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 6.20 crore (India net) on day 3, marking a 25.3 percent jump over the Rs 4.95 crore collected on Saturday. The Sunday figures came from around 2,400 shows across India. The film directed Chella Ayyavu, is jointly produced by Ishari K. Ganesh, Vishnu Vishal and Ishan Saksena through the companies Vels Film International, Vishnu Vishal Studioz and IVY Entertainment.

With this, Gatta Kusthi 2 has amassed Rs 13.85 crore in India net collections and Rs 15.93 crore in India gross collections within three days. Overseas, the film added Rs 1 crore gross on Sunday, taking its total (overseas) to Rs 2.85 crore. Its worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 18.78 crore.

The film also saw improved occupancy on Sunday, recording an overall 44.27 percent in Tamil (2D). Morning shows registered 23.85 percent, which rose to 52.62 percent in the afternoon. Evening shows witnessed the highest turnout at 53.15 percent, before settling at 44.46 percent during the night shows. Tamil Nadu remained the biggest contributor, adding Rs 6.25 crore gross on day 3. Karnataka contributed Rs 50 lakh, while Kerala added Rs 28 lakh.

Vishnu Vishal Clarifies Remarks on Vijay and Rajinikanth

During the film's release, Vishnu Vishal also addressed the controversy surrounding his recent comments on Rajinikanth and Vijay, which some fans interpreted as disrespectful towards the latter. Clarifying his remarks during a media interaction, the actor said he had merely repeated what Rajinikanth himself had said while referring to Vijay. He explained that Rajinikanth had addressed the actor by his name, and he did the same without any intention of offending anyone.

Vishnu Vishal added that his original point was to mention on the growing negativity and toxicity on social media, not to create divisions between fan groups.He said that he stood by his comments, and also said that they had been taken out of context by a section of Vijay fans. Gatta Kusthi 2 also stars Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunaas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Lizzie Antony, Gajaraj, Sreeja Ravi, Karunakaran, Zara Zyanna, and Mokksha, among others. The film features technical work by cinematographer KM Bhaskaran, editor Barath Vikraman and composer Sean Roldan.
