The
television industry is reeling from the tragic death of actress Sanchita Ugale. Colleagues, friends and fans are in shock. Among those deeply affected is actor Abrar Qazi, who worked closely with Sanchita and is still struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking news. Speaking exclusively with Zoom/Telly Talk India, Abrar shared his grief, recalling Sanchita as a cheerful, talented and warm individual who never appeared troubled during their interactions. He also spoke about the importance of discussing mental health and seeking support during difficult times.
Abrar Qazi Recalls The Moment He Learned About Sanchita's Death
Abrar revealed that he initially found it difficult to believe the news when he first received a phone call informing him about
Sanchita Ugale's death. "Someone called me and informed me about it, but for almost an hour I couldn't understand that it was true. I thought this couldn't be real. I felt that maybe something had happened to her and she was still in the hospital. But when messages started pouring into our group from colleagues and friends, I gradually realised that the news was true. Genuinely, I was shocked.The actor said he was on set when he learned about the tragedy and found it difficult to focus on his work. He stated, "Honestly, I couldn't even perform my scenes properly in the beginning. She was such a sweet and wonderful girl. She was a brilliant actress. I never once felt that she was unhappy or going through something. As much as I knew her, I could never have imagined, even in my dreams, that she could do something like this. It's extremely sad."
Remembering Sanchita, Abrar described her as someone who always appeared positive and full of energy. "Not even for a single moment did I ever feel that she was troubled. She was always smiling, carefree, and full of life. I still don't know what exactly happened or how it happened. I am also trying to find out and understand what went wrong, " said Abrar.
Abrar Is Looking Back At Old Messages
Abrar admitted that the news has affected him on a deeply personal level and that he is still trying to process the loss. Calling her death a 'heartbreaking incident', he added, "I wasn't able to focus on my scenes today. In fact, I was just looking at her old messages a while ago. She had wished me on my birthday. It's still very shocking, and I am trying to process it and come to terms with it."Amid his grief, Abrar also shared an important message about mental health and the need to seek support during challenging times. "I would like to say this not just to actors but to everyone—if you are going through any kind of difficulty, stress, or emotional pressure, please talk to your friends, family, or colleagues. If you're on a set, speak to the people around you." He stated that mental health struggles are as 'real and common' today as any other health issue. "Please don't feel alone, and don't hesitate to reach out to your loved ones and seek support, concluded the actor.
About Sanchita Ugale's Death
According to the Nallasopara Police, Sanchita Ugale died by
suicide at her residence at around 7 pm on June 14. Her cousin brother Akash Ugale stated that she had become fearful of the industry. Sanchita was known for her performances in television shows such as
Wagle Ki Duniya,
Dilwali Dulha Le Jayengi and
Sajan Ghar. She had also appeared in films, including
Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal.
