The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress confirmed that she had contracted H1N1 and has been advised to remain in isolation for five days. She also expressed her solidarity with those who attended the peaceful protest at Dadar and dedicated her father Kaifi Azmi's poem Naujawan to them.

Shabana wrote, "My dear Mumbaikars, I was meant to join your protest yesterday, but I’ve come down with H1N1 and need to remain in isolation for the next five days. Even so, I want to express my solidarity and appreciation."Azmi shared that she was receiving first-hand reports from young people on the ground, many of whom had participated in a protest for the first time and experienced the impact of their voices. "I continue to be inspired by your courage and commitment and stand by you in solidarity," she added and shared her father Kaifi Azmi’s poem Naujwan for the youth.
During the protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday (July 20), Shabana Azmi faced a
health scare. After the Delhi Police used tear gas to control the crowd at the site, the 75-year-old actress suffered an asthma attack. Viral videos showed her being rushed to a nearby building as she looked visibly unwell. She later revealed that she had felt dizzy and was not feeling well.She later told a publication, "I am an asthmatic and got an attack because of the tear gas, but I had my pump with me so I am okay now."
