All About Satluj Row
Satluj is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. The film faced many problems before its release. It went through several title changes and clearance issues. It was first called Ghallughara, a name linked to historical Sikh massacres. Later, it was renamed Punjab 95 during the certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification. Reports say the film was finally cleared after 21 cuts were made and the title was changed again. It was then released as Satluj.Diljit spoke about the film being taken down during a live session on Instagram on Monday. He thanked fans for supporting the movie. He said that once something is shared online, it stays there in some form. He also asked his fans who had already watched or downloaded the film to share it with others who had not seen it yet.Diljit said, “What I had feared actually happened. I thought the film would be taken down by Monday when the offices would be opened, but I had no idea that it would be banned on Sunday only. But I was sure that it would be banned. That's why we didn't promote the film. It was best to release the film (online) without any promotion.”Satluj is directed by Honey Trehan and produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures. It also stars Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljit Singh, Suvinder Vicky, and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan in important roles.
