Tiwari's Ramayana is one of the most awaited theatrical releases of this year. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, the mythological epic will be arriving in theatres on Diwali 2026, and its second part will be released on Diwali 2027. In 2023, actor Annu Kapoor had taken a dig at filmmaker Nitesh for making Ramayana. He has once again commented on his project and questioned actress Sai's casting. On Zoom's Spotlight Sessions, Annu Kapoor wondered who Nitesh Tiwari is.

In an exclusive interview with us, Annu reflected on his old comment about Nitesh Tiwari and opined whether epics like Ramayana should be made or not. While discussing it, the senior actor questioned Sai Pallavi's casting as Goddess Sita in the film."Kya banayenge? Jo banayenge vo Ramanand Sagar ki Ramayan ko technologically bohot showshe baazi kar denge. Lekin uske baad aap ye sochiye ki kisko aapne Sita ka role diya hai? Sita Maa hai. Iss desh ka Hindu Shri Ramchandra ko Narayan ka avatar maante hai. Aur kinko liya hai Mata Sita ke roop mein? Tab ab aap sochiye. Aane dijiye," he said. Watch the full interview below:

WhenAnnu Kapoor was asked if he doesn't agree with film's casting, the actor wondered who Nitesh Tiwari is. "Aap jiska naam le rahe ho usko jaanta bhi nahi hoon main. Kaun hai? Kya karte hai? Mujhe toh pata bhi nahi. Main filmein nahi dekhta hu aur maine kuch cheez miss nahi ki. I am sorry."For the unversed, in an old interview with AajTak, Kapoor had made a similar statement about the filmmaker and questioned his claim to fame. "He will be beaten by shoes. No one should insult any religion in this volatile situation," he had mentioned.

Meanwhile, Ramayana also stars Ravie Dubey as Lord Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Yash as Ravana.
