Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day is just days away from its global release. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, will release in India on July 30. As theatres across the country are beginning to go houseful, the Central Board of Film Certification reviewed the film and cleared it with a U/A certificate. However, this came at a cost. According to reports, the CBFC certified Spider-Man: Brand New Day after a couple of modifications, which included the removal of an important scene between Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Zendaya’s MJ.
CBFC asks Spider-Man: Brand New Day makers to remove kiss scene

Central Board of Film Certification’s official document, the Indian theatrical version of
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will not feature a kiss scene between
Peter Parker and MJ. In addition to this, the board has asked to mute and remove ‘obscene words’ from the audio and subtitles. A static anti-liquor health warning has to be displayed on-screen wherever necessary. The final runtime of
Spider-Man: Brand New Day in India is 2 hours 44 minutes and 52 seconds.

Obsession faced CBFC’s strict rules. The board asked the makers of the psychological thriller to ‘reduce the scene of extreme violence’ and ‘delete the scene of graphic sexual activity’. Besides this, they were instructed to ‘replace the visual of nudity’.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day release in India
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be releasing in 2D, 4DX 3D, 3D SCREEN X, DOLBY CINEMA 3D, ICE 3D, DOLBY CINEMA 2D, MX4D 3D, 3D, P[XL], and BIGPIX across theatres in India. Besides English, the film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Considering the pre-release hype for the superhero movie, theatres are selling tickets at premium prices. From Rs 2800 in Delhi NCR to Rs 2,720 in Mumbai, the cost of tickets is not stopping the audience from booking prime time shows.
