Bollywood
actor Ajay Devgn marked the birth anniversary of his late father, veteran action director and stunt choreographer Veeru Devgn, on June 25 with a rare archival video. The clip, shared on social media, offers an intimate look at the elder Devgn's views on acting, his unfulfilled dream of becoming a star himself, and his unwavering belief that Ajay was born for the screen. The post drew an emotional response from fans and serves as a reminder of the bond that shaped one of Bollywood's most enduring legacies of the Father-Son duo.
Veeru Devgn's Undying Faith In His Son
In the video, Veeru Devgn, born Virender Devgan, opens up about his own desire to try his hand at acting, and how he eventually accepted that it was not the path meant for him. Rather than letting that dream go, he channelled it entirely into his son. The veteran stunt director recalls knowing from the moment Ajay came into the world that he had the makings of a screen star, and made it his mission to put him there.
Ajay captioned the post with a simple tribute, "Remembering you with love and pride today." The clip also gives fans a rare peek at the two on set together, with Veeru guiding Ajay through the mechanics of action and stunt work, a reminder that their bond was built as much on the film floor as at home. A celebrated figure in Hindi cinema, Veeru Devgn lent his craft to some of the industry's most iconic productions over the decades. He passed away in May 2019 in Mumbai at the age of 84.
