Batman Part 2 is one of the most awaited films in Hollywood. Matt Reeves’ next directorial venture has been creating buzz among the masses since its inception. The prequel of the same, The Batman, was a major success at the box office. And now, he is set to expand the Bat-Verse by adding an iconic DC villain. As per reports, Barry Keoghan will be returning as the Joker in the Robert Pattinson-starrer. For the unversed, Keoghan was there in the first installment but it was his brief appearance as the iconic Joker.

Barry Keoghan In The Batman Part II As Joker

A report published in Box Office Pro France, Matt Reeves’ sequel was discussed during a Warner Bros’ presentation at Studio Show. The report further suggests that Barry Keoghan’s name has been finalised to play the iconic Joker in The Batman Part 2. Apart from that, the makers also announced the names of the rest of the cast members, including Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson. Barry Keoghan will play a major role in The Batman Part II, unlike in the prequel. The official confirmation about Barry’s casting is yet to be made. But if it turns out to be true, he will join the list of actors like the late Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill, who played this iconic character of Joker in the past.

What Was The Role Of Barry Keoghan In The Batman?

For the unversed, Barry Keoghan played the role of The Joker in the first part, where his character was shown talking to Paul Dano’s character, The Riddler, in Arkham Asylum at the end of the film. While he was initially credited as ‘Unseen Arkham Prisoner’, the iconic imagery and voice give enough hints to fans about his role. Barry had initially auditioned for Dano’s role as the Riddler in The Batman. However, Reeves felt he would be suitable for the Joker’s role. Matt Reeves had also released a deleted scene which shows Pattinson’s Batman interaction with Joker in Arkham Asylum. Coming back to The Batman Part 2, some reports also suggest that Stan is likely to be playing either Two-Face or the psychopathic serial killer, Victor Zsasz. Fans will have to wait a little longer to get a clear picture of The Batman Part 2’s casting. It has to be noted that The Batman Part II is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2027.
