Indresh Malik on Heeramandi and The Pyramid Scheme
In an exclusive interview with us,
Indresh Malik said in Hindi, "First of all, I wanted to work with the directors - Shreyansh Pandey and Ashish Shukla and the writer. They have a strong grip. When a project related to a common man comes, set in a place like Haridwar and Rishikesh and (set against) a multi-level marketing scheme of the 1990s, a middle-class dilemma, (you wish to do it). The first reason was to work with TVF."
The actor further admitted, "Secondly, I wanted to break from a certain image that has been portrayed in
Heeramandi. I wanted to do something different from there. These things attracted me." Malik added that he initially auditioned for Chunmun uncle's character in the series. However, he ended up playing Divya Jyoti. Reflecting on his experience of working on this show, the actor expressed, "It was teamwork. It was important to get the vibes. Things cannot progress quickly where there is negativity. So, in totality, there was a lot of positivity with brilliant minds around."
Indresh Malik: I am being approached for characters with multiple shades
As our interaction continued, Indresh opened up about playing a different character in
The Pyramid Scheme as compared to
Heeramandi. The actor revealed that he is being approached for characters that have multiple shades. According to him, it is not an easy task to play such roles and can take a toll.
"The mind is a very big part of the body. An actor uses his complete body and soul (to play a role). You have to force yourself to a certain level and make your mind believe that this is the character that I'm portraying. This is the situation. When in reality, it's not like that," he added.Did you enjoy watching
