Bhagyashree
has hit back at criticism she received after a video of her promoting Kulhad lassi in Varanasi went viral. The Maine Pyar Kiya star had visited Kashi, where she was seen enjoying local food and encouraging people to support local vendors. However, a clip from the same visit started doing rounds with claims that she had refused to drink the lassi after the shoot because it was too sweet. This led to backlash online, with some accusing her of fake promotion.
Bhagyashree Fires Back At Trolls
Taking to social media,
Bhagyashree shared a video of herself sipping on the lassi and wrote a detailed note defending her actions. In her caption, she described her day in Varanasi, saying she had been up since 3 am for the mangala aarti and later walked along the Ganga ghats in the scorching heat. She wrote, "this lassi was just the energy booster I needed. Sprinkled with dryfuits on top I enjoyed the crunch."She further spoke about the health benefits of curd, saying it is rich in calcium, protein and probiotics, and that the combination of sugar and water made it the perfect choice in 40-degree heat.
Bhagyashree then addressed the viral clip questioning her sincerity, asking her critics directly if anyone had actually heard her call the lassi too sweet during the shoot. She wrote, "Kya aap the wahan par? Kya kahin bhi uss fake clip ke dauran kisine, sunna, ya record kiya ki meine yeh kaha ki its is too sweet and that I will not have it?" She added that fake content is what gets uploaded with half a video and half the knowledge.
She also pointed out that promoting local food does not benefit her financially in any way and that the only purpose is to support local vendors. The actress wrote, "Local food ko promote karne se koi bhi paise nahi kamate. The only good is that local food, local vendors get support. It is a shame that idle minds have nothing nice to say even about the simplest of things."She ended her post by calling out people who criticise even the simplest gestures, adding that Kashi is a place of purity and such comments hold no value in front of its significance. The clip had originally gone viral after claims surfaced that Bhagyashree had avoided drinking the lassi post-shoot, citing its sugar and fat content. While some users criticised the move as fake promotion, others came out in her support, saying celebrities often stick to personal dietary choices regardless of what they endorse on camera.
