According to the hospital bulletin dated July 22 cited by Hindustan Times, Balakrishna injured his left knee while participating in a film shoot in Rajahmundry. He received immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital before being airlifted to Hyderabad for specialised treatment and further evaluation.

The hospital stated, "Shri. Nandamuri Balakrishna Garu sustained an injury to his left knee while participating in a film shoot in Rajahmundry. He was provided initial medical treatment at a local hospital and was subsequently airlifted to AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad, for specialised evaluation and further management."Providing further details about the actor's injury, the hospital revealed that preliminary examinations pointed towards a possible muscle tear and inflammation around his left knee. The health bulletin read, "He is currently undergoing extensive clinical and diagnostic investigations under the supervision of a team of orthopedic surgeons." Doctors are continuing detailed investigations to accurately assess the extent of the injury before deciding on the next stage of treatment.
