Many users say they are unable to refresh their feeds, upload posts or stories, send direct messages, or access parts of the app. The disruption has triggered a surge in complaints on social media, while Meta has yet to issue an official statement explaining the cause of the outage.According to Downdetector.com, nearly 5,000 users have reported issues with Meta-owned Instagram, pointing to a widespread disruption affecting the platform. Around 52% of users are experiencing problems with the app, while 21% report issues accessing the website. Another 14% say their feed is not loading
properly, indicating that several core features have been impacted.Downdetector.com's live outage map suggests the disruption is primarily affecting users in major US cities, including New York, Chicago, Washington, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas and San Francisco, where a high concentration of complaints has been recorded.Meanwhile, the situation in India appears to be relatively limited. Downdetector.in has logged nearly 230 complaints so far, indicating that while some users in the country are experiencing issues, the outage is currently far less severe than in the United States.
