Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s much-awaited final film Jana Nayagan has finally received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after months of delay. The film has been given an A certificate, with the censor board suggesting 12 changes, including the removal of certain words, visuals, and references. One of it is the removal of the term TVK, which had political meaning due to its connection with Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Directed by H Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film’s release date is expected to be announced soon.

Jana Nayagan has received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after nearly seven months of delay. 12 cuts have been ordered in the final version of the film, including two cuss words. One of the major changes involved the removal of the term TVK. In the film, Vijay’s character is named Thalapathy Vetri Kondan, which is shortened as
TVK. However, outside the film, TVK refers to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, the political party founded by Vijay. According to the certification note, a dialogue at the 110:23-minute mark, which mentioned '
Ambedkar sattam... to... TVK sattam' was modified. The reference to TVK was removed from both audio and visuals without altering the runtime.
The censor board also ordered the removal of visuals showing the Indian flag falling on the ground, muting of multiple words such as 'Bhagavatham,' 'Ranganathar,' cuss words and OM, and deletion of a New India reference. Scenes related to a hanging sequence and a disrespectful DC office badge visual were altered. Certain dialogues were muted, including body-related references and the phrase 'India la kalla virala vaikarne.' Violent imagery showing a child being burned was removed, the word 'Siluvaila' was muted, and the character name 'Sheela Rani' was changed.

The final runtime of Jana Nayagan stands at 3 hours and 3 minutes. The makers, KVN Productions, are expected to announce the official release date soon, with reports suggesting a July release. Directed by H Vinoth, the film stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Narain.The film was originally scheduled for a Pongal release on January 9 but faced delays during the certification process. After multiple rounds of review, KVN Productions approached the Madras High Court seeking faster approval. The delay continued even as a high-definition version of the film leaked online, leading to a police investigation and arrests.
