Dulquer Salmaan Jokes About Feeling 'Pressure' To Win After Father Mammootty's Fourth National Film Award

his fourth National Film Award win, Malayalam star Mammootty is now tied with Amitabh Bachchan as the actors with the most wins. To celebrate his win, son Dulquer Salmaan, who has followed his famous father into the profession, shared his reaction to Mammootty winning his latest National Film Award for the feature film Bramayugam. The Sita Ramam actor joked about not winning any, as his father had already won four in his career at the National Film Awards. Dulquer and his father have yet to share screen space together.

Calling his father the 'Greatest of All Time', the Lucky Baskhar actor shared a cool photo of Mammootty out at breakfast, wearing shades. His caption was a funny conversation with his father in which the veteran actor is musing about his fourth National Film Award. Dulquer has to remind him that this is already his fourth.

In his post, Dulquer imagines his father asking him, "Oh sweet! What about you? Win anything?" To which, Dulquer has to sadly reply, no wins as yet. His father's cheeky reply takes the cake as he states, "No pressure son! You do you" It truly was a mic drop moment.

Dulquer has won five Filmfare Awards South from 11 nominations in his career. He started out with Best Male Debut – South for Ustad Hotel and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and nabbed Best Actor Critics – Malayalam for Kali and Kammatipaadam. Finally, he won Best Actor Critics – Telugu for Mahanati and Sita Ramam. In 2016, Dulquer also won the Kerala State Film Awards for the Malayalam film Charlie and the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for Best Actor for the films Kurup and Salute. Meanwhile, the veteran actor has four National Film Awards, eleven Kerala State Film Awards, fifteen Filmfare Awards, and eleven Kerala Film Critics Awards under his belt.

Last seen in the Tamil film Kaantha in 2025, Dulquer has several films currently in production. His Malayalam film I'm Game, on which he is the producer, is currently in post-production. He is also filming the Telugu projects Aakasamlo Oka Tara and Sri Sri. Dulquer is also producing the eagerly awaited sequel to Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which will focus on Tovino Thomas. The Malayalam superhero film featured the father and son in the same film, as Dulquer had a cameo as Odiyan, while Mammootty lent his voice and had a special guest appearance as the character Moothon.
