cinema's power couple, Jyotika and Suriya, recently watched director Chidambaram S. Poduval's Balan The Boy and took to social media to praise the film. Sharing his thoughts, Suriya described it as 'another gem from the Malayalam industry.' He also lauded the Manjummel Boys filmmaker, along with lead actors Adhisheshan and Farzana Palathingal, for their performances. For the unversed, Balan The Boy has been scripted by Jithu Madhavan, who is also directing Suriya's upcoming untitled Suriya 47, which stars Nazriya Nazim and Naslen in lead roles.

Suriya shared that he was still thinking about Balan The Boy long after watching it. Praising director Chidambaram's choice of subject following the success of Manjummel Boys, he applauded the filmmaker for bringing Jithu Madhavan's unconventional story to the screen. The actor also mentioned about the performances, particularly those of debutants Adhisheshan KR and Muhammed Zinaan, alongside Farzana Palathingal and Tovino Thomas, who plays Abbas.. Before Suriya's post, Jyotika had also praised the film on social media. Actor-producer Radikaa Sarathkumar has also shared her appreciation for Balan: The Boy, describing it as one of the finest films she has watched recently. Praising the film's storytelling and performances, she called it a 'superbly crafted' work. Her post on social media profile read 'So refreshing and has a world of itself. Balan: The Boy follows a young boy, played by Adhisheshan, and his mother, portrayed by Farzana Palathingal, as they uncover long-buried secrets from their past while going on an emotional journey of truth and redemption. The film also features Muhammed Zinaan, Jean Paul Lal, Beena Antony, and Premalu director Girish AD in key roles.The film marks the third directorial venture of Chidambaram, who made his debut with Jan E Man (2021) before delivering the blockbuster Manjummel Boys.
