Aamir Khan Exits Ashneer Grover Biopic After Creative Differences With Shraddha Kapoor’s Rumoured Beau: Report

Apart from working on a period drama, Mr Perfectionist was in the talks with Shraddha Kapoor’s rumoured boyfriend, Rahul Mody, for his debut directorial venture, a biopic of famous yet controversial entrepreneur Ashneer Grover. However, the latest development about the project will shock everyone, as Aamir Khan has opted out of the project due to creative differences with Rahul Mody.

Aamir Khan Out Of Ashneer Grover Biopic

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Aamir Khan has decided to opt out of the Ashneer Grover biopic due to creative differences. For the unversed, the film will have Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead. It was expected to go on floors in March 2027. But the plans have been changed due to creative differences between Aamir and Rahul. A source revealed that Aamir is fascinated by the world of start-ups. He was keen to get into the zone with the Ashneer Grover biopic. In fact, he had also sat on the script and developed it to the best of his sensibilities. However, the filmmaker and actor ended up having creative differences due to which they parted ways.

The report further states that Shraddha Kapoor is still a part of the project. The makers are looking for new actors to play the role of Ashneer Grover on the big screen. “The real-life couple is now looking to recast the film and get a relatively younger name to play the part of Ashneer Grover. The conversations are on with two- or three-top names, and the cast is expected to be locked soon,” the source concluded. The official confirmation about the development is still awaited.

Who Is Ashneer Grover?

Ashneer Grover is a famous entrepreneur who co-founded BharatPe. He had appeared in the first season of Shark Tank India as a panel member. The Delhi-based businessman made headlines for his blunt attitude and razor-sharp words to the contestants. His word ‘Doglapan’ became famous on the internet.

He had landed in legal trouble after he was accused of misusing BharatPe funds. A few reports claimed that payments were made to fictious vendors, invoices were inflated and reimbursements were irregular. The public scrutiny intensified after he exited from the company in 2022. In 2024, the matter was eventually resolved amicably through a settlement. Both BharatPe and Ashneer agreed to drop all the legal charges, and the latter eventually cut all ties with the company. Ashneer Grover has also hosted a reality show, Rise and Fall. The entrepreneur also had a fallout with Salman Khan on Bigg Boss. His wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, had participated in Lock Upp – Sach Ya Sazaa as a contestant. She got evicted from the show last week.

Coming back to Aamir Khan, the actor is working on Ashutosh Gowariker’s next period drama. He will reportedly start shooting for the sequel of 3 Idiots, which is currently at the scripting stage.
