Christopher Nolan, Matt Damon, Tom Holland Say Cheers To Chai During The Odyssey India Tour

Nolan, Matt Damon and Tom Holland are in India amid the ongoing global tour ahead of The Odyssey’s release. Their Mumbai visit kicked off on July 10 with their arrival in the city, followed by a houseful premiere of the film with the members of the press. Before wrapping the Mumbai pit stop, the trio explored some of the city’s best eateries. Christopher, Matt and Tom went to Olympia in Colaba on Saturday evening for traditional Irani chai and bun maska. It is known for its milky, thick and creamy tea.

In a video shared by Universal Pictures India on Instagram, Christopher, Matt and Tom were seen entering the centuries-old restaurant amid tight security. They were served traditional Irani delicacies like the milky tea, bun maska and traditionally cooked phirni. The trio said cheers before sipping the chai.

After enjoying the evening tea together, Christopher, Matt and Tom headed to a South Mumbai theatre for the grand premiere of The Odyssey. It was attended by Dimple Kapadia with her granddaughter Naomika Saran, Namit Malhotra, Jim Sarbh and many others.

Post the media screening on July 10, Christopher, Matt and Tom greeted the media. Holland was overwhelmed by the response. The actor said, "Thank you for always welcoming us with such open arms, with so much happiness and excitement and grace and love." Praising Indian fans, he added, "I think no one brings an energy to a movie theatre like you do here in India. So, thank you, for supporting us. Thank you for enjoying Chris's (Christopher Nolan) amazing work."

Matt added, “This is the first real audience we have been in front of that's seen the film, so it means the world that you liked it. We worked very, very hard on it. It was the result of thousands of people really pushing themselves to make this happen. We are so happy you like it, we are so happy to be here.”

About The Odyssey

The Odyssey also stars Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya and Charlize Theron. The film follows King Odysseus’s arduous 10-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Along the way, he faces divine interventions, monstrous creatures (including Cyclopes), and numerous obstacles. Meanwhile, his wife, Penelope, and son, Telemachus, must contend with ruthless suitors vying for his throne.The Odyssey is set to release in theatres on July 17, 2026.
