Why Tom Holland thought Christopher Nolan hated his acting
Speaking during
Fandango's Big Ticket interview, Tom Holland opened up about one memorable moment from the set of
The Odyssey that left him unexpectedly worried. The actor recalled being confused every time director Christopher Nolan called "cut" in the middle of filming, making him wonder whether something was wrong with his performance.Reflecting on the experience, Holland said, "Working with the IMAX camera for the first time is an experience. I didn't know it only ran for three minutes."He went on to explain that Nolan repeatedly stopped filming, leaving him anxious about what was happening behind the monitor. "I remember he would continue cutting, and I was with John like, 'Why does he keep cutting?' In my head I'm thinking, 'Does he not like what we're doing? What is happening?'"
Holland eventually found himself overthinking the situation before stunt coordinator George Cottle stepped in with an explanation that immediately put him at ease. "Then George Cottle was like, 'No, no, no, there's only three minutes in the mag.' I was like, 'Oh, thank God,'" Holland recalled with a laugh. The candid anecdote offered fans a rare glimpse into Nolan's filmmaking process while highlighting how even seasoned actors can misread what's happening on a set.
