Priyamani recently shared an update on Jana Nayagan, her first film alongside superstar-turned-Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Directed by H Vinoth, the much-awaited project has been making headlines as it marks Thalapathy Vijay's final film, and delays linked to its certification process. Speaking at a recent event, Priyamani hinted on the film's release saying that an official announcement is expected soon. She also opened up about working with Vijay and praised his leadership qualities, saying many believe he was born for his current role. The film marks her first collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay.

Priyamani Calls TN CM A Born Leader

Speaking at the event for her film GDN, Priyamani said "I am very happy," she said when asked about her thoughts on Vijay becoming CM. She also said that he was a born leader. "Everyone is saying that sir was born for this role. I think he is doing a good role, and everyone feels that it should continue this way. I also want to wish him all the best because he was born to do this, and he is a born leader."

The film has faced multiple delays in recent months due to issues related to its certification. However, reports suggest that it has now received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is gearing up for release. Priyamani shared an update on the film's release. While she did not reveal the exact date, she said an official announcement is expected soon.

Jana Nayagan Leak Case: Madras High Court Rejects Bail Pleas

The film has also been at the centre of one of Tamil cinema's biggest piracy investigations after portions of it surfaced online before its theatrical release and even before receiving CBFC certification. On July 2, the Madras High Court dismissed the bail pleas of accused S. Rajini, Jayaprakash, and another individual linked to the case. According to The Hindu, the prosecution informed the court that nearly 1.2 crore people had watched the leaked version online, making it one of the largest piracy cases in recent years.Apart from Vijay and Priyamani, Jana Nayagan stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Narain, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles. The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, along with Lohith N.K. and Jagadish Palanisamy. Originally planned as Vijay's swansong before stepping away from cinema to focus on politics, Jana Nayagan was initially slated for a Pongal 2026 release.
