Anjali Anand Denies Advocating Body Positivity: Not Here To Show Blood Reports Proving I Am Healthy - EXCL

Anand, who has encouraged filmmakers to look beyond a certain physical stereotype in Indian cinema, has denied being an advocate of body positivity. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, the Dhamaal 4 actress clarified that she never asked people not to lose weight. Instead, she revealed that the title of body positivity advocate has been forced onto her based on the way she looks. Anjali further shared in the interview that her goal is not to influence people into deciding whether to lose weight or not. Kindness is all she believes in.

Anjali Anand says she does not advocate body positivity

Talking to Zoom, Anjali said, “I have never come out and said that I am advocating body positivity. It has just been thopoed (forced) on me because of the way I look. It has just come from people. I don't advocate body positivity. I advocate being kind. I think advocating things and giving them labels like these are just us going back in evolution and saying, just be kind to people. This is just a tag - body positivity. You have to just be kind to anybody sitting in front of you. You just have to be kind. That's it.”

Anjali Anand hopes to inspire people to be kind

She added, “I'm not advocating for anything. I don't want to influence people into anything. I just want to inspire people to be who they are. Big, small, fat, thin, light, dark, however you are, just be yourself. That is going to make you reach places that nobody else has. Don't listen to other people. This body positivity brigade has been thopoed because I am doing a lot. But I'm just here to act, and with that, if I can inspire people, I am happy to do that. But I am not an advocate.”

Anjali Anand says she is healthy and fit

Anjali further clarified, “I am not telling people to not lose weight. I'm not telling people to lose weight. If you're happy with yourself, just be who you are. If you're unhappy, change. I'm very happy with who I am. When I feel unfit, I go to the gym. I'm not sitting and telling people or showing people blood work; I'm healthy. I am fit. People don't know it. Every fit body looks different. People have a lot to say about it. I know people will have a lot of opinions now also on it, but I don't really care. I'm just here to do my job, and I know what I'm doing. I'm a kind person, and I have good intent.
