Veteran actor Satish Shah was posthumously conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian entertainment industry. The award was picked by his cousin Arvind Mamania on his behalf on June 23. When Mamania walked up the stage in his brother's place, an air of emotions filled the room, proving why Shah's demise has left a void in the hearts of his fans. Satish Shah died on 25 October 2025, at the age of 74, due to a cardiac arrest. The Padma award, was thus an emotional moment, a celebration of the late actor's decades-long contribution to Indian entertainment, and recognition for an artist whose work brought laughter, warmth and unforgettable characters to audiences across generations.The Padma Shri is India's fourth-highest

Arvind Mamania hoped Padma came earlier for Satish Shah
Prior to the awards, Mamania shared that Satish Shah was like a brother to him and revealed that the late actor's wife could not attend the ceremony due to health issues that prevented her from travelling. He expressed that they had hoped the
Padma Shri honour would have come while Shah was still alive, but accepted that some things cannot be changed.Mamania told HT, "We wished the honour would come earlier, when he was alive, but nonetheless we cannot change what has happened. My wish is that when I receive the award on his behalf, he watches us from above and blesses us. Once I'm back in Mumbai, we plan to have a small celebration. in his honour."
