years after the first film introduced brands such as Prada and Dolce and Gabbana in households, the sequel stormed its way to the box office and earned $677 million so far at the global box office after releasing in theatres on May 1. Starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, the second brought back director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna. The studios announced that internationally, The Devil Wears Prada 2 will debut on streaming from July 29 on Disney+ and Hulu. To watch the iconic sequel in India, the film will be available on JioHotstar.

On social media, 20th Century Studios shared that the fashion icons would be coming home soon. The movie is coming on digital for rent from June 30 and would stream on Disney+ and Hulu by July 29. Several actors from the first film are reprising their roles for the sequel. Besides Hathaway, Streep, Blunt and Tucci, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also return for the second film.

There are several new faces as Kenneth Branagh plays Streep's new husband and Patrick Brammall is Hathaway’s love interest. Simone Ashley, Helen J Shen Lucy Liu, BJ Novak, and Justin Theroux also have key supporting roles in the sequel. The budget for the second film was $100 million and The Devil Wears Prada 2 flew past the entire earnings of the first film in just nine days worldwide.

What is The Devil Wears Prada 2 about?

Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) comes back to Runway as its features editor, thus reuniting with the boss from hell, Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). The magazine is now facing dire times as they go to former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), who now works at Dior, for some funds and investment after a scandal. The gang also heads to Milan Fashion Week for an unforgettable spectacle by Runway featuring an A-list pop star. Ashley Graham, Donatella Versace, Lady Gaga, Kara Swisher, Jenna Bush Hager, Paige DeSorbo, Hannah Berner and Tina Brown all have memorable cameos.

In the US, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the film on June 30, 20th Century Studios is releasing the first movie. For a limited time fans can catch both the first and second films as a double feature. Tickets for the films are now on sale.
