This
past year had brought back some acclaimed series such as Netflix's gritty, Punjab-set Kohrra, which showed that their first instalments were no fluke. Several new dramas such as the well-acted Made in India, which grew from strong word-of-mouth buzz, also joined their ranks as the combination of star talent and behind-the-scenes creativity brought forth some compelling moments on screen. These web series created some of the most memorable moments of the year and made sure that we could not forget them. Here's our list of the best Indian web series from the first half of the year.

Made in India: A Titan Story successfully adapts Vinay Kamath’s book

Kohrra Season 2

drama series returned with Barun Sobti as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi. He joins Mona Singh as Dhanwant Kaur as she leads the investigation of a young woman's murder in her family home. The slow-burn drama, which has Punjabi dialogues, leaves you with an ending that you will be sitting long to ruminate upon.
Glory
Where to watch: NetflixThe dark and violent sports drama, co-created by Karmanya Ahuja and Karan Anshuman, takes viewers into the ring as a boxing coach, Raghubir Singh (Suvinder Vicky), reunites with his estranged sons, Dev (Divyenndu) and Ravi (Pulkit Samrat), after heartbreaking tragedy involving their sister, Gudiya (Jannat Zubair). The high-octane drama, with solid portrayals by its cast, digs deep into old secrets and personal clashes, leaving viewers shell-shocked by that explosive cliffhanger ending.
Freedom at Midnight Season 2
Where to watch: SonyLIVReturning after a year and a half, after its engrossing first season, the
second season follows the harrowing narrative of India's history after the Partition was announced and borders had to be drawn up. Created by Nikkhil Advani, the historical drama is a poignant and thoughtful look at the real-life events. The first-rate ensemble cast continues to impress and the writing is impactful as it reminds viewers of the physical and mental toll of those decisions that still lingers on.
Matka King

Matka King takes viewers back to 1960s Bombay, where an enterprising young trader Brij Bhatti played by Vijay Varma creates a new gambling system called Matka, making it accessible for the common man. Brij's journey is steeped with success, greed and promise. With a fine ensemble cast of Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Siddharth Jadhav, Bhupendra Jadawat, and Gulshan Grover in supporting roles. The series has already been renewed for a second season.
