No Dhoom 4 For Ranbir Kapoor? Actor Denies Starring In YRF Film While Promoting Ramayana

Kapoor has finally addressed the long-standing speculation surrounding his alleged casting in Dhoom 4. For years, reports have linked the Bollywood star to the next installment of Yash Raj Films' blockbuster action franchise, but neither the production house nor the actor had officially commented on the rumors. Now, while promoting Ramayana at San Diego Comic-Con, Ranbir has seemingly put those reports to rest. Speaking about his upcoming projects, the actor categorically denied being part of Dhoom 4 and instead revealed the films currently occupying his schedule.

Ranbir Kapoor is NOT doing Ramayana

The team of Ramayana recently attended San Diego Comic-Con to promote their highly anticipated mythological epic. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash represented the film during the event, interacting with fans and the media. While discussing his upcoming projects on the sidelines of the event, Ranbir was asked about reports claiming he would headline Dhoom 4 alongside his work on Ramayana.During an interaction with the Review Nation YouTube channel, the host mentioned that Yash would soon be seen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups apart from Ramayana, while Ranbir would reportedly star in Dhoom 4.The actor, however, quickly dismissed the speculation. "No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War. Which is directed by Mr Sanjay Bhansali. That should be out on January next year," Ranbir said and dismissed the rumours.

Interestingly, this marks the first time Ranbir Kapoor has publicly addressed the persistent rumors surrounding Dhoom 4. Although his name has frequently surfaced in reports about the franchise over the past few years, neither Yash Raj Films nor the actor had ever officially confirmed his involvement.The Dhoom franchise is one of Bollywood's most successful action series. Beginning with Dhoom in 2004, the franchise introduced audiences to bike chases, stylish robberies and charismatic anti-heroes. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, the first film starred Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, John Abraham, Esha Deol, and Rimi Sen.Its success led to Dhoom 2 in 2006, where Hrithik Roshan's suave master thief became one of the franchise's biggest highlights. Aishwarya's small-time thief Sunehri and Hrithik's Mr. A set the screens on fire with their chemistry. The third installment, Dhoom 3 (2013), featured Aamir Khan in a double role alongside Katrina Kaif. Across all three films, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra remained the constant faces as police officers Jai Dixit and Ali Akbar Fateh Khan, while each installment introduced a new antagonist.

As RK mentioned, his next is Love & War, then Ramayana Part 2 on Diwali 2027. Although Ranbir did not mention Animal Park while discussing his upcoming lineup, the sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Animal is still very much in development.

Earlier, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, confirmed during a virtual press conference ahead of Animal's Japan premiere that Animal Park will begin production after he completes his current project, Spirit. Ranbir too was present at the event.Explaining the title, Vanga revealed that the sequel will significantly expand the world established in Animal. According to the filmmaker, Animal Park will feature multiple "animals," with Aziz emerging as another dominant force in the story, making the conflict much larger than in the first film. However, fans hoping for an early reunion between Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga may have to wait. The director has confirmed that Animal Park is currently expected to go on floors towards the end of 2027.
