Meta has officially expanded its smart eyewear lineup with the launch of the new Meta Glasses series. Developed in partnership with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, the latest wearable aims to bring artificial intelligence directly into everyday life through a pair of connected glasses. The new lineup comes with multiple frame designs, built-in AI capabilities, hands-free controls and a starting price that makes it Meta's most affordable smart glasses offering yet. Unlike traditional smart glasses that focus mainly on notifications
or photography, the new Meta Glasses are built around Meta AI and multimodal interactions.The lineup includes three different designs. The Meta Adventurer offers a classic rectangular look, while the Meta Fury features a bolder appearance. Meta has also introduced the Meta Glasses by Kylie, a slimmer oval-shaped model created in collaboration with Kylie Jenner. There's an option to choose from seven colour options and multiple lens configurations, including prescription-compatible variants.On the hardware side, the glasses come equipped with open-ear speakers, integrated cameras for hands-free photo and video capture, a dedicated action button, and an upgraded microphone system designed to improve voice recognition and reduce wind noise. Meta claims the glasses can deliver up to eight hours of battery life on a single charge, while the bundled charging case extends total usage to around 40 hours.The Facebook-maker has equipped the glasses with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark, a model specifically developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs for wearable devices. The system can process visual information in real time, allowing users to interact with AI based on what they are seeing around them.Meta has also revealed several upcoming software features, including Dynamic Photo, pedestrian-focused audio navigation, and expanded live translation support. The translation feature will add 14 new languages, including Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin.The new Meta Glasses are available starting at $299 (approximately Rs 28,330) through Meta's website and major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, LensCrafters and Sunglass Hut. For now, the Mark Zuckerberg-led firm says the glasses can be purchased across the US, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Australia. There is no official word yet on when the wearable will make its way to India.
