On July 28, Dhanush celebrated his birthday and greeted his fans from his luxurious Chennai residence. In fact, the actor's ardent fans got a special surprise as filmmaker Tamizharasan Pachamuthu shared an exciting update about D56. The director posted a picture with the birthday boy, and hinted at the genre of their upcoming project.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Tamizharasan Pachamuthu wrote, "I hope, I wish, and I promise to work towards directing a mass blockbuster for you." The director's tweet hints at his upcoming project with Dhanush could be a commercial entertainer.

In his tweet, the director also revealed that the film's shooting is scheduled to begin after the Tamil month of Aadi. It means that the film will go on floors towards the end of August. Tamizharasan had begun location scouting for D56 in March this year.For the unversed, Tamizharasan is known for directing Lubber Pandhu, a sports drama which was theatrically released in 2024. Produced by Prince Pictures, the movie featured Harish Kalyan, Dinesh, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Swasika, Bala Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, and others.
