Deol and Akshaye Khanna have reunited for Netflix courtroom drama Ikka and their fans could not be more thrilled. The two stars, who featured in the iconic Border, have seen massive success in recent times with their movies Gadar 2 and Dhurandhar setting new box office records. At the trailer launch of Ikka, Sunny heaped high praise on Akshaye as he reacted to the monumental success of Dhurandhar, saying he deserves all of it and more.
Sunny Deol On Working With Akshaye Khanna Post Dhurandhar Success
When asked about Akshaye Khanna at the Ikka trailer launch, Sunny Deol said that he deserves all the success coming his way and much more. Reacting to Dhurandhar, he said, "I think it was high time. Like I was saying, time is unpredictable, so just keep working, never give up, just keep doing it, and I think that's what Akshaye was doing and when the time has come and he is now flying high, and he deserves it. and much, much more."
Sunny further recalled how he and Akshaye formed a great equation during Border. He said, "I am so happy for him because we both did Border together, and that's the first time he was working with me, and we had a very great equation over there because he was Vinodji's son."
Sunny Deol Reveals He Was Planning To Make Damini 2
While interacting with the media, Sunny Deol also revealed that he was planning to make Damini 2 but things did not go as per plan. "I had not got the chance to do courtroom drama after Damini and we really wanted to make Damini 2, but that did not materialise. Then Ikka happened," he said.In Siddharth P Malhotra directed Ikka, Sunny Deol will be returning as a laywer on the onscreen. The superstar described the Netflix film as "a story about family, relationships, and the difficult choices life forces you to make."He further added, "Ikka is also very special because it marks my first direct-to-streaming release. I’m happy that through Netflix, audiences across India and the world will be able to experience Ikka."Ikka will be arriving on Netflix on July 10 and will mark Sunny Deol's second outing of 2026 after Border 2. After Ikka, he will be seen as Lord Hanuman in the much-awaited mythological epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. It is slated to release on Diwali.
