Now, a media report suggests that the Raayan actor is interested in joining politics. According to the news publication, the actor is apparently evaluating the pros and cons. In June this year, Dhanush's father, Kasthuri Raja, didn't deny the possibility of his son joining politics. This further fueled the speculation about his political entry. Read on to know more.

As per a NDTV report, Dhanush is apparently keen to join politics, but not immeditaely. Sources told the publication that the actor is currently evaluating the pros and cons, and will decide over the course of the next few years. "The next elections in Tamil Nadu are in 2031, so he still has time to evaluate and strategise," the source added.

Meanwhile, at the blood donation camp arranged by his fans, Dhanush spoke about the power of unity. Addressing his fans and people at the camp, the Tamil actor said they need to give that unity a purpose."Beyond just audio launches and meetups, we need to engage in even more welfare activities. Understand the needs of the people in your area, the families living around you and help them in whatever way possible. Do whatever help you can for them. I need to feel even prouder of you. I believe you will do it," he added.

Dhanush on Raayan National Award controversy

At the same event, Dhanush reacted to the controversy over his film Raayan winning National Award. After Raayan was declared the Best Tamil Film, netizens didn't agree with the jury's chocie and felt Meiyazhagan and Maharaja should have won the honour.Without any other Tamil movies, the actor said, "For Raayan, I got a National Film Award. That year, there were definitely better films than that one. The fans of those films expressed their love, and I fully respect them."

Dhanush's work front

Meanwhile, on the work front, Dhanush was last seen in Vignesh Raja's action thriller, Kara. The actor played the role of Karasaami in the movie backed by Vels Film International and Think Studios. It was theatrically released on April 30. Next up, he will be seen in OM Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood. Its star cast also includes Mammootty and Sai Pallavi.
