Every
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fan is waiting for Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to be released in December 2026. Recently, the team of an upcoming MCU film graced the Marvel’s Hall H event at the San Diego Comic-Con in California, US. At the event, Avengers: Doomsday cast had a fun interaction with the media, where Pedro Pascal, who plays the role of Reed Richards from Fantastic Four, opened up about his dynamic with Robert Downey Jr’s villainous character, Victor von Doom aka Doctor Doom in Avengers Doomsday. He requested everyone not to blame his character for Doctor Doom’s sins in the upcoming Russo Brothers’ film.
Pedro Pascal’s Hilarious Reaction To Reed Richards-Doctor Doom’s Bond
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly at 2026 San Diego Comic-Con studio,
Pedro Pascal mentioned that his Fantastic Four: First Steps character, Reed Richards is not at all responsible for the havoc that
Robert Downey Jr’s Victor Von Doom going to be creating in the
Avengers: Doomsday. While describing his character’s attitude towards Doom, Pascal said, “Intellectuals understand that we’re all responsible for ourselves.”
The actor explained that he sees Downey’s antagonist from the perspective of his individual character rather than the way viewers might evaluate Doom. The Materialists star said, “The world that we’re in, and the way that I understand it through Reed, at least, is very singular to the relationship that I have to Doom. And I guess there is a big barrier between the context that we all have as audience members to the experience of Avengers and the incredible way that all of it is threaded together, as we have X-Men sitting with us in this group.”
Robert Downey Jr’s Reaction To Pedro Pascal’s Statement
Pedro Pascal further mentioned that it would be very easy for him to be single-focused through the perspective of his character. He feels Reed Richards to somebody like Victor Von Doom. Reacting to his statement, Robert Downey Jr jokingly said, “That was verging on a filibuster; would you like another go?” His reaction left everyone in splits. For the unversed, Mr Fantastic and Doctor Doom are considered the arch rivals of each other in Marvel comics. Hence, it would be interesting to see their equations in Avengers Doomsday. The Marvel film is releasing on December 18, 2026, in theatres. It also stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsowrth, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby and others in key roles.
