Deol and Akshaye Khanna starrer Ikka's trailer was unveiled amid a lot of anticipation on June 29. The Netflix film, which is set to premiere on the streamer on July 10, also stars Dia Mirza, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Tilottama Shome. One thing that stood out in the trailer of the Siddharth P Malhotra directorial is the mention of Sunny's name towards the end as "Dharmendra's son." While the gesture left the audience emotional, considering the movie comes after the death of the legendary actor, Sunny reacted to the decision to use Dharmendra's name with his in the end credits.

Speaking at the press meet following the trailer launch in Mumbai, Sunny got emotional when he was asked why the trailer uses "Dharmendra's son, Sunny Deol"? The 68-year-old Bollywood star kept it short, yet his reply reflected a lot of emotions. He simply said, "I'll always remain my father's son, always. That's all I'll say."

About Ikka and Sunny Deol's role
Ikka, which brings back Sunny Deol in the role of a lawyer, also reminds fans of his iconic role in
Damini (1993), an advocate who helped the character of Meenakshi Sheshadri get justice fighting power, money and a horrifying sexual abuse case.In
Ikka, his character is a tad different. Over here, he plays an upright lawyer who's defending a murder accused, putting aside his values to side with the man whose past with him and his wife holds painful memories. The accused is played by Akshaye Khanna, with Tilottama Shome portraying the prosecution lawyer. Dia Mirza plays, and Sanjeeda Shaikh plays Akshaye's spouse.

Speaking about the film, director Siddharth P Malhotra previously said in a statement that
Ikka has challenged him 'emotionally and creatively'. He shared, "It was one of the first stories I ever wanted to bring to the screen.
