Speaking to The Times Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar on Baatein Dil Se, Suniel Shetty reacted to the Don 3 controversy. He said, "Nobody can ban an actor, nobody can ban art. Nobody has the right to. The Supreme Court will throw out the matter in a second." He added, "Farhan is also very sensible and even Ranveer. I honestly feel, knowing Farhan and Ranveer, if they sit together, they can create magic." Defending Ranveer Singh, Shetty further said, "Who are you to ban? Try and understand that this kid has given you 3 and half thousand crore revenue to the industry... Why would you want to ban him? If you ban something that people want to watch, what exactly are you trying to achieve?"

What happened between Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh?

TheDon 3 controversy began after Ranveer Singh exited the film shortly before production was scheduled to begin, despite being announced as the franchise's new lead in 2023. Reports claimed the actor had reservations about the script, budget changes, and director Farhan Akhtar's availability due to other commitments. However, Farhan and producer Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly disputed these claims, citing conversations that showed Ranveer had earlier expressed enthusiasm for the project.Following Ranveer's exit, Excel Entertainment reportedly sought compensation for losses incurred during pre-production, including look tests and location recces. Reports also claimed that Ranveer proposed a settlement involving immediate compensation and a discounted fee for a future project, but the offer was allegedly declined. The dispute was later taken up by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, which issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor, while the Producers Guild of India also became involved in efforts to help resolve the matter.

In April, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after receiving a complaint from Farhan Akhtar. Ranveer's legal team challenged the move, stating the federation lacked the authority to enforce such a directive. Following mediation by IMPPA, FWICE withdrew the order in early June.
